Following the Super Deluxe Edition of their debut album last year, Talking Heads have another expanded release coming this year!

More Songs About Buildings and Food was released in 1978, the first Talking Heads album to be produced by Brian Eno, and included their cover of "Take Me to the River" by Al Green. Like the other albums by Talking Heads, in 2005 a Deluxe Version became available with several bonus tracks. In this case, it included a 1977 version of "Stay Hungry" (although this recording would later appear on the Super Deluxe Edition of their debut album, Talking Heads: 77 as it was part of those sessions), alternate versions of "I'm Not in Love" and "The Big Country", and a so-called "Country Angel Version" of "Thank You for Sending Me an Angel". Aside from "Stay Hungry", the other three are included again in the Rarities disc of the upcoming Super Deluxe Edition.

The 2006 Talking Heads compilation album Bonus Rarities & Outtakes included a different alternate version of "Thank You for Sending Me an Angel", as well as alternate versions of "Warning Sign" and "Artists Only". It also includes "Electricity - Instrumental", an early version of the song that became "Drugs" on their next album, Fear of Music. All of these tracks from the More Songs About Buildings and Food sessions will be included on the Rarities disc.

The Rarities disc will include four previously unreleased alternate versions of the songs "Found a Job", "With Our Love", "The Good Thing", and "The Girls Want to Be with the Girls", with the alternate version of "Found a Job" now available as the first single for the upcoming expansion.

Following the layout of Talking Heads: 77's Super Deluxe Edition including a recording of a show at CBGB on October 10, 1977, there will also be live recordings on the upcoming release. However, this time there are two distinctly different options depending on the format you choose to buy. The band's performance at Entermedia Theatre on August 10, 1978, is included in audio on vinyl and CD, but as video on Blu-Ray. There will also be 47 minute footage of Talking Heads performing at Sproul Plaza in Berkley, CA.

Just like Talking Heads: 77, there will also be a book for the More Songs SDE which features a range of content such as photos, lyrics, and notes about the album. The release comes in a range of formats, with the following options and prices currently listed on the official Talking Heads store:

  • $34.98: 2LP (Album + Rarities)
  • $74.98: 2LP (Album + Rarities) + 4 7" singles (3 different international releases of the Take Me to the River single + 1 The Good Thing single)
